Admincp > Styles and Templates > Style Manager > All Styles Options drop-down > Common Templates
Now that I've pointed to what I'm talking about, here's what I'm asking for: The ability to choose which templates show up in Common Templates. For example, headinclude is not a template I would consider "Common" however postbit is. With this hack, I would like to be able to add and remove templates to Common Templates as I see fit. Thanks in advance to anybody who has the time/patience to create this. |

There is no way to do so. They are using a totally different approach compaired to 'normal' templates.
PS postbit is not really a common template, it does not appear on each page. If you would have asked for the navbar, i could have understood partially. PSS Will merge your threads |

I don't understand how there is no way to do so. Can you elaborate please?
P.S. Thanks for the merge. |

Why would you want to do that? Just find the template, and bookmark the URL of the frame (not the whole page - that doesn't work with frames)

because the custom templates has that little drop down thing where you can choose the template you want to work on. i like to copy and paste and its easier that way rather than going back to each template, scrolling down, choosing postbit, making the changes, then doing it all over again.

In that case, you should make all your styles a child of the style you will be editing. Now only edit the template in the top-level style (make sure the child styles have not edited that template, revert if needed), and all changes made to the parent style will be inherited by it's childs.

that could work, but not for all my templates. overall, what I want is to do is be able to choose what templates are found in common templates. if that is completely impossible then i'll accept that it can't be done. however, i think it can be done but its not worth me paying a php/mysql/vb guru for.
