Problem with .htacess file

Just wondering if anyone knows this, but when I use

and then visit my forums like so: http://www.757forums.com

vbulletin comes up with "This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view."


Unless I type http://www.757forums.com/index.php

anyone know why?

First try to add
RewriteRule ^$ index.php
in there, if that dont work try this
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^$ index.php
RewriteRule (^[-_A-Za-z0-9\ ]*$) member.php?do=main&userid=$1
RewriteRule (^[-_A-Za-z0-9\ ]*$) member.php?do=main&username=$1

What version of Apache are you running? I wanted to do something similar with a redirect that required a '?' to be used. After much digging around I finally discovered that the '?' can't be used with Apache 1.x
