Download attachment as url link?
What i'd like to do is incorporate a feature into my forums, which has people be able to upload a attachment with the extension of .lnx,but all it is is a url redirector,so when you click on it it takes you to the file you want to download. Also having the attachment clicks be non-right clickable so people cannot download the file onto their machine. This hack would be best suited to be compatible with the Download Credit System and a built in hide hack (until someone replies(Optional Feature)) till you can see the attachments.
Would anybody be willing to build this hack? I am sure alot of people would use it,and my request is you make it for 3.5.x please!

what you're looking for is a URl concealer.
So someone can create a url to a file and put it on a post, but the actual URL will not be visible to the end user.

Yes, my forums have had a hard time with off-site linking. Server's are expensive as you all know and charge by the bandwidth. If i can make the server's more exclusive to my forums, it would make server hoster's more comfortable on lending them to my forums. Especially since we are not rich at all, as it's a totally free forum.

A hack like this would work well in conjuction with a no-right click script, not foolproof but idiotproof i hope.

Actually forget the Right-click Script but i really need a hack which downloads attachment as a url, and also hides the actual link! This must be possible and will never let alone about it.

No, that only works for links, i need something that basically tricks the attachment to be a actual url and also hides the link source. And also compatible with the Download Credit system that tnguy3n is making.
