Different signature for one forum than for others?
OK, so let's say you run a family-oriented bulletin board where you don't want talk about things like liquor in the primary forum. However, one of your hobbies is brewing beer, so you create a forum for this, requiring age verification to enter. Is it possible to have a different signature for that one forum where members can post in their signatures what they are currently brewing or have on tap without having the signature show up in the kid-friendly forums? Not that this is a huge issue...kids know what beer is, but I still don't feel right having a signature referring to beer in my primary forum.
I'm not sure if there is already a hack for this or not. I did a lot of searching to no avail before making this post. Here's what I'm thinking. When you go to Edit Signature, there are two signature fields...one for the brew forum, one for all others. You can fill in either or both. On the Profile Page (viewable by all) and all forums except the Brew Forum, only the general signature shows up and the brew signature is disabled. In the Brew Forum, the general signature is disabled and the brew signature is enabled. Can this be done? |

Yes I believe it can be done, but you may want to look at creating a profile field for a "Brewing Forum Tag Line" or something, which is only viewable when you are in the brewing forum...
