Bread Crumbs In Header

I am attempting to create my own vertical navbar theme, but I would like to put the breadcrumbs up top with the header. The only problem is that it does not send the bread crumbs to the header the way I want it to, how can I have it send it to the header the way I want? :ermm:

I've spent several hours searching for the exact same answer and all I could find is threads like this one with no replies.

I've copied the code, but I assume the variables needed are not assigned yet?

Can anyone assist or comment?
