Hello everyone!
Here I present you my very first vBulletin Style.
Since upgrading my forums to 3.5.1 I needed a new style but I wanted something original, something own and finally I came up with this.
I was aiming at something a bit eyecandy but yet easy to the eye.
(While keeping the blueish colors of the old style I had, since we got used to that)
Maybe you like it
Some features of this style that make it different to the default style:
Borders around categories on forumhome to better seperate them from each other
Completely new (redesigned) navigation bar
Complete new set of status icons (for forums, posts and PMs)
Complete new set of buttons
There's a seperator between the sticky and the "normal" threads
An additional navigation/breadcrumb bar at the bottom of threadview for easier navigation.
(don't have to scroll to the top to go the a parent forum of the current thread)
Attached are some screenshots, but you can also preview it live on my own forums --> here <--
Every feedback is apreciated so that my next style may get better since I already have some nice ideas
Oh, and if you reall go to install my style let me know!

First Skin...? get outta here... your obviously gonna make some very nice skins in the future! - I'll look forward to that so will many others im sure, im sure you don't need me giving you some advice, but i'll share some of the guidelines i use when i think about designing a skin for vB...
KISS, Keep it Stupid Simple! - I try to use very small (filesize) graphix to reduce bandwith overheads and as such i take this principle and apply that to the design, i think...how can i make something stylish with minimal fuss... either dark or light? (thats my first question) then start with the alt1, alt2 colours first which i spend time working out how they compliment each other...anyways, i've started to go towards designing skins which have an exisiting theme/influence on my design, my C64 skin is eveidence to that...next? maybe an Atari 2600 who knows.... nice skin btw!
the skin is wonderful but 1 thing i have double navbar on my board would hate to modify it is there a way to fix that problem and some how keep it's look but installed it anyway....nice one
looks nice. my users want a dark theme. Are u going to fully support this? Like when updates are released? if so, how long can we expect after a release from vb will we have to wait for an updated style from you?
I just noticed, is it only in fixed width or do u have 100% as well?
@b6gm6n:
Thanks for the tips with your guidlines!
I'll try to follow those more on my next skin

Hmm.... what exactely do you mean by "double navbar"?
A feature of your board, or a problem with my skin?
Can you give ma a screenshot about that? I'm sure we can get this worked out!

D
I'll try to do my best as my free time allows me :classic:
However since code MODs have become not so common since 3.5.1 chances are high that I also upgrade my own board, so I need an updated skin as well
There shouldn't be too much time between a new vB and an updated skin, denpends how quick I figure out what has to be fixed
As for the width:
It's not fixed as in 800px width, it's actually an 88% width.
But there's an additional .XML in the archive that has 100% width.
So you can choose wichever you like better
