I'm thinking about placing ad banners in a few off-topic subforums of the board I run, but I don't want to alienate users by using a Google Adsense or some other offsite service. I'd like to implement a system where only forum members can buy banner space, similar to the Something Awful model.

Has anyone created a member-purchased ad banner system plugin or extension for vBulletin 3.5.*? Searching finds lots of banner-related plugins, but nothing like this.
