Screen Names Do Not Exist and E-mail Notifications Broke

We recently had to move to new hosting. In the move many things have gone wrong.

1) Any screen name with an apostrophe in it comes up as "Does not Exist". How do I make these members exsist again?

2) Members who were receiving e-mails notification of replies are no longer getting them. Any idea how I fix this.

Both are not easy to answer without more information.

1) Do the usernames still exist in the database? Look in PHP info if magic quotes is turned on.

2) Is mail working at all?

You rock!! No, e-mail is not set up yet. I was going to do that this weekend. I hadn't put two and two together. Thank you.

As for the usernames, yes they still exist in the database I believe. I can go into the Admin CP and look them up and change their title's etc. But regular members of the board can not send them gifts or change titles, however their names are still on the member list.

Yes, we have the uTT Store Hack where you can buy "gifts" for members and buy title changes. When a member tries to put a member name(with an apostrophe in their name) in to buy this for them it says that member does not exist. The member's themselves can get on the site, the just can't receive "gifts" or anything else to do with the store.

Then i suggest you ask in the thread of that hack. Seems not to be a vB issue, but an issue with that hack.
