To all coders here at vborg
I want to thank you for all of your hard work. I am sure that I speak for the majority when I say that you are appreciated. Not a lot of us have much money, you see, because just like you our forums and features are free. Some of us hate banner ads and popups, so we do not have the advertising dollars coming in, so if you get a donation from one us, please note that it is coming from in the strictest sense from our pockets. in other words, when we go to work in real life, the money that we get from this work is what we are using and not from ad dollars. When you get a donation it is a extreme showing of appreciation.

I read this and I read what you posted in the other thread. I can understand you not having much money. But first people dont donate for hacks thats a rare day when one of us receives a donation for a hack. I spend a good deal of time coding and its what I do for a living. I cant sit here and release all my work for free on vbulletin.org I usualy release the smaller stuff for free and most of the other stuff for very reasonable prices. I am targeting some scripts right now to make people money such as one that will provide a fully featured auction system. You cant expect me to release a script like that for free. I spend to much time making it. I understand that you have bills but us programmers also have bills. I mean heres a good example of the stuff I have to deal with. I just got a pm a few minutes ago from some guy asking for support for a hack I didnt release, that I havent ever installed or looked at, and that I havent posted in the thread even, Mainly becuase I just read the thread about 10 minutes ago. I get over 20 pms a day from people on both of my sites and here on vb.org. I mean I even get raided over at my non scripting site. I acctualy get bothered more there for some reason. People dont understand the few rules I ask for them to follow. Like if they post in the vb.org thread of my hacks I will hopefully read it within a week. If they post in the thread on my site I can usually get them a reply within an hour tops unless im sleeping. I ask people not to pm me for support or im me for support thoose are reserved for paying jobs. Yet people dont listen. You guys want free work from us but people dont respect or rules. I mean I have to spend an hour or so each day just trying to claim my inboxes back. Then people get made at me when I dont reply fast enough becuase they didnt follow the rules. You need to see where im coming from. I am planning some nice stuff that will really help everybody knew and experienced if they choose to use it. Such as my eXtremeScripts Core which will provide a way to make hacks for vbulletin and move then over to say ipb or anything else with ease. Basicly by just picking the engine for the hack. It will have a set of engine files and will be easy to make custom ones. The engine files will tie it into its backend while providing a nice seemless frontend for the coding that wont have to change to move the products around. |

One good way to pay back a coder that has provided you code FOC could be next time you need professional help, PM and try to hire them at a fair price first.
