changing a thread layout, how do i do this?
hi, two final questions. im such a newbie its not even funny...
1) ive seen many forums where all of the user's information is located on the left side of their post. vbulletin.org is one such forum. currently, my forums are set up to have all the information appear above a user's post. i want to change it to be shown on the left, but i cant find the option anywhere in my ACP, i looked in the vBulletin options > thread display options (showthread) and couldnt find anything. is this a simple thing to change? i hope so. 2) im setting up a forum for mathematics students, and in each user's post id like some addition information to show up. ive seen some forums have "location" and such, and id like to have two additions: "professor" and "current class," both of which are things that i added to the "profile fields" section in the user profile fields section. is this possible, having additional info show up in a user's information section (which i want at the left of their post, per issue #1)? if so, did i add it to the correct part of my ACP, or do i need to add it somewhere else? kind of like the feature seen here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=97663 how do i get specific information to appear in the postbit? is this even the correct location? thanks again. ill try to stop asking questions now |

1. vBulletin Options > Style & Language Settings > Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template = YES
2. User Profile Fields > Add New User Profile Field > Single Line Text Box Thanks for asking questions that I can actually answer. |

2) this wasnt exantly what i was asking, but i figured it out. i knew how to add new user profile fields, but i wanted them to show up in the postbit. turns out i had to go and edit the postbit template file. oh well, thanks again! ive got this problem figured out now. |
