LOL! I'm no template expert, but when you want to avoid hacking PHP files because of vB3 coming up, you find ways of doing things without hacking.

Like I said, the $postcount variable does NOT work immediately.

You need to edit your Quote button link in postbit, and add this to the end of the Quote button URL:

&postcount=$postcount

OR

&postcount=$post[postcount]

Depending on what you use as the postcount variable in your postbit. This way the variable is send to the quote reply template.

Erwin i add &postcount=$post[postcount] in postbit template just like u say..

and i use this [ url="$bburl/showthread.php?postid=$postid#post$postid"]#$post[postcount][/ url] in my quotereply template but when i test it it always show
http://www.xx.com/..... not #postnumber like here..

so where do i wrong??

Put a space between the $postcount variable and [/url] tag

And use $postcount, not $post[postcount] like the previous poster said.

I understand what postcount does now. It returns the postcount of the thread, not the actual message number. I like this way better that the postid way. Sorry for the confusion.
