Let amy and chris sort it.. I believe they can both speak for themselves.. and if folks need something to do, I am sure there are customers you need to respond to over at the photopost site/s..
Its why some rude people might think that, yes. Fortunately we have a low percentage of folks like that (but even when you have thousands of customers its going to be a handful).
You didn't pay for the privledge of bring a prick (not that I am referring to you, of course, just in general making an observation - some people think because they paid for software they are entitled to be rude). Kinda like the guy who doesn't want to pay for installation service but then expects you to log onto his server to see why his IM doesn't work, KWIM?
As to this issue, my point is this is a community site and Amy isn't trying to sell you anything, so she certainly doesn't have to measure her responses to be careful not to offend your sensative ego.

I agree with Boofo here. Amy made a valid point. And even thought I personally may not agree with it, it's still a valid point. Some members should begin to see that two people can both have equally valid points, and it does not make someone more right than the other. Respecting others opinions, not critisising them for having one.
as with most things, it's all about tact i guess, although sadly if everyone done what you said their would be little point in forums, for lack of a better word it's all about 'challenge' i felt my opinion was valid so aired it and a debate came from that, you're likely to find a whole bunch of people that agree with me and another whole bunch that don't. opinions do matter, i'm sure that's why you vote and i'm sure that's why so many people worldwide come online to discuss the likes of George Bush, not to mention some opinions can be wrong. it's less about being critical and discussing it.
Hardly active? I could hardly say that I am hardly active. I haven't released any 3.0 hacks, but I still contribute bug fixes and such as I find them. I am here daily, closer to hourly at times.
It's that generally, I keep my mouth shut because when I do say what I'm thinking, somebody has a cow.

just for the record, my reference to your activeness wasn't down to your hacks released, it was down to your actual posting forum wide (based on my access mask) and untill not long ago, to the best of my knowledge you hasn't been her in a little while (although you could've been coming on in ninja mode)
I'm not. I can't edit posts, delete posts, or any such thing. I merely have an honorary status, as does Erwin, because we were former staff who resigned and were not fired.

clever post, although not sure why yo need the recognition, i mean even if you do look at jelsofts intervention based on the Chen situation, how many of his hacks were ported and released? how many made it into vB3 as a part of the standard product? i think some recognition wouldn't go a miss especially if yours was justified. (my two pence though, feel free to ignore me completely)
There is no reason to put the blame on moderators, nor should any community ever depend on its moderators to thrive and progress. The moderators do all we can on our time to maintain this forum. You should remember we're volunteers, this isn't a paid position to ensure the complete progression of this community. We have work, just like normal people, aside from our moderator dutities, but we still strive to do our work.
Moderators should be regarded as normal members, but with privledge to move threads, close threads, and do the orderly things that the vBulletin software allows moderators to do. Don't see us as some body of power that have the ability to improve the forum over night.
A large part of making this community better lies in the members. People should contribute more often to answering questions, not just asking questions. Don't ridicule people for asking stupid questions. If a post is in the wrong forum, use the report link and a moderator will get to it. Don't mock others for the inability to code. With practice comes percision.
ok and for my final point of the hour, this is where we disagree and as we're both admins we will ofcourse differ our opinions on a moderators duty towards a site, however we (being a few of the regs here) recently had a debate over on .com regarding moderators, this that and the other where wayne did indeed say; that a moderators only job isn't to police a site, it's also to stimulate activity (more or less a quote) just like a fosset/tap you use it to increase the flow and also to decrease the flow, being that he's the site co-ordinator, i assumed he wasn't just talkign fro the fun of it :ermm: (and just for the record, no it don'thave to be in the form of hack releasing)
