I didn't say that, but you have to remember that Moderators represent a website, and it's hardly a good image to be slagging off the community in public.

that's probably why so many people think the support over at photopost.com is bad mods should be able to speak out but at the same time, it's their duty to be as tactful as possible.

ok seriously though, how can you justify giving Amy a special usergroup just for being an ex mod when you've got Chen with absolutely no reference to what he's done for the site in his usertitle, username colour or anything?

i mean seriously

v. intr.

To attach oneself to another in the manner of a leech.
you just can't say you didn't mean anything bad when you're calling other folks parasites, it's an elitist, snobbish attitude and while i could accept it (kicking and screaming) coming from a mod renound for his lack of people skills on the site/people not getting his humour. to come from someone hardly active is a whole other thing, especially as a member of staff...

So seeing as she's technically not a moderator, but still is, it's quite wrong of her to be posting such comments.
She is not Moderator at the moment but it does not matter even if she is because I fail to see what's wrong with her comments. She mentioned a characteristic of the board and IMHO she is right about this so what's wrong with that even if she is a Moderator? I also think what she thinks so does Filburt and we both are staff.

This is just an opinion and we should respect all opinions here. You may think otherwise and your opinion is also valued and respected as much. But having a moderator status should not deter us voicing what we think, don't you think?

Wow how sensitive are you?!? lol There is no reason to be so jumpy so relax. Nobody is calling another person parasite here, we are just stressing that there are content providers and content users in this site. There is nothing wrong with being a content user member, everybody can not know everything. I used to use a PERL script once and I was leeching from their community since I suck at Perl. This is not a crime. But I was respecting people who were helping me patiently and for FREE when I was asking a question and I was understanding when they don't answer my questions in times. This is the point stressed here so please try to focus on the main point.

The complaint is not WHAT she said, Sinan. The complaint is HOW she said it. She even realized it was a little harsh and apologized for it. That seems to be the problem here at vb.org more than anything else theses days. I can remember a time not too far back where we didn't all lash out at one another and now it seems that everyone is so jumpy and defensive at every little thing.

That's just my nickel's worth.

Its why some rude people might think that, yes. Fortunately we have a low percentage of folks like that (but even when you have thousands of customers its going to be a handful).

You didn't pay for the privledge of bring a prick (not that I am referring to you, of course, just in general making an observation - some people think because they paid for software they are entitled to be rude). Kinda like the guy who doesn't want to pay for installation service but then expects you to log onto his server to see why his IM doesn't work, KWIM?

As to this issue, my point is this is a community site and Amy isn't trying to sell you anything, so she certainly doesn't have to measure her responses to be careful not to offend your sensative ego.

I agree with Boofo here. Amy made a valid point. And even thought I personally may not agree with it, it's still a valid point. Some members should begin to see that two people can both have equally valid points, and it does not make someone more right than the other. Respecting others opinions, not critisising them for having one.

Hardly active? I could hardly say that I am hardly active. I haven't released any 3.0 hacks, but I still contribute bug fixes and such as I find them. I am here daily, closer to hourly at times.

It's that generally, I keep my mouth shut because when I do say what I'm thinking, somebody has a cow.

Still doesn't explain why you're still a moderator after supposedly you've stepped down.

I'm not. I can't edit posts, delete posts, or any such thing. I merely have an honorary status, as does Erwin, because we were former staff who resigned and were not fired.
