Introduction
This is the SEO friendly yet Advanced AJAX powered Musicbox by DnP Network?. It is found by Silveryhat in the late 2008 and early 2009. The original version was first use way back in the '06 or '07 with limited functions and no ajax support. A serious upgrade and rebuilding have been made few weeks ago for this release. Main goal was to make it faster and compatible with all vBulletin forums. This project is the hard work of Silveryhat and DnP Administrator of DnP Network?, we wish to bring the best to the vB community.

DnP Instant! Musicbox is free for non-commercial, non-profit use. Otherwise, please read the Notice at the end of this post.

Requirements

• Host supports AJAX
• Administrator skill level MUST be intermediate, for you must know what you are doing. 70% of the issues was because Admin does not have a clue of the host configuration and what the notice tries to tell them when a problem occurs. Also the other 20% is because Admin does not read the 2-Step Installation Guide carefully. I will not give support for such situations.
• vBulletin from 3.5.x to 3.8.x

Simplified 2-Step Installation :

1. Upload all files and folders under the "upload" folder to your forum root.

2. Run forum_root/install_dnp_musicbox.php to setup new tables to your database. This little friendly webpage is also AJAX supported. Delete it after you have finished installing the data.



[Note] : For Unix host, please make sure the folder you have uploaded the musicbox content to is CHMOD to 666 or 777 (writable) if you receive a permission error during installation.

Customizations :

• Now proceed to AdminCP ? DnP Musicbox Options to add new categories, artists (optional), and albums (optional).
• Use the Configuration Editor from Musicbox Homepage ? Administrator's Quick Panel to customize the your personal musicbox !

There is no manual template change needed, unless you would want a musicbox link to show on navigation bar, too.

Access forum_root/music.php to start your musicbox!

Please be aware : For every Modification, there are always bugs somewhere that the author have not yet found them himself. The same gravity applies for DnP Instant! Musicbox. Bottom line - About Search Engines, Do they really crawl the content?:

My site rank is not high enough to beat other big sites, so I would narrow down the search to show that google does see the content of Musicbox.
Keyword : Leaving on a jet plane dnp or Honest Graduation Song dnp, as well as Baby I would dnp.

Uninstalled, would be great to have:

1. Usergroups with the ability to edit the Artists, Genders, Videos, etc, this is a key option for me to install this because is a lot of work to be adding Artists and editing the video Names and so on...
2. A better foolproof script to add the videos (Eg. Adding youtube like the standard youtube links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yakC-BjBJpI also with the other video hosts).
3. Fix this odd address: http://127.0.0.1...

Thanks for the feedback , some of the ideas you mention have already been there under the Configurations page.

1. You can define the group via admin_groupid_allowed
2. Standard youtube link as you show will leads user to the video page on youtube but not the embedded player therefore it has to be the clip ID only. However, I guess future version will simplify the process.
3. It's the default setting for local homepage (called baselink in Configurations). It should be changed accordingly to the forum environment.

I have tried to install this 2 times and am on my 3rd attempt.

Unfortunately I'm in the 70% category of those who don't know what they're doing. Add in the 20% because it probably is user error and I'm at 90% against getting it installed.

I get the same thing every time.

I download and install all files>remove install file>> go admin cp and create category>> create subcategory>>create artist>>add media.

Now everything shows up on the page like it should, including the title, description, artist name, etc. Everything except the video. All I get is a blank/white page where the media player should be. I can view your demo site and 1 other site that I know has this mod but not on my site.

What am I not doing right or doing wrong?? I have Ajax enabled on my server and in my CP. So what else should I check??

BTW: I fully uninstalled all files before reinstalling the files again.
