I am able to stop the threads from dropping off of the left hand side of the page by editing my showthread_similarthreads to look like this:

Great Hack!!! You have no idea how many old threads were being revived by noobs clicking the similar threads on the bottom, this has worked wonders!!!

Ok now on to business ... How can can I do this with active users?

Hey man, thanks, this fixed the dropping off to the left crap, but like you there's a HUGE blank white space to the left of the similar threads...if someone could take a look at this and tell how to fix it it would be greatly appreciated!
