Thanks for the fast response!
I have backed up the database and the site.
I went to MYSQL and found a second database that is empty.
My question is this, When I go to install, will I be prompted as to which database to use?

Also, where would a MYSQL noob get clear, understandable information on setting up a database/adding a database for VB.

Thanks again.

As stated above.

If you have a valid licence, you may set up an additional test forum in order to test code, template and database modifications. To make this clear to us and our licence verification procedures, place it in a directory called 'testvb' and be sure to password protect it. It must not be accessible by the general public.

You are allowed to have 2 instances of Vb running, as long as one is in a testvb directory and is not available to the public, i.e. .htaccess password protected, if you have cpanel hosting you can do this by going in to your cpanel and choose the icon that says Password Protect Directories, choose your testvb directory and assign a user name and password to it

I don't use any localhost boards, just because I am too lazy to install, configure, etc. apache. Mostly I don't feel like running apache everytime I feel like messing around on a testboard. So instead I throw them on public webspace and have them .htaccess'd off.

I'm like that, vbtest, testvb, vb, vb2, and testboard are all on Marvin (one of my linux boxes) then theres test2, test3 and test4 on Cottage (my main server) 3 instances behind htaccess on my main testing webserver another 2 on other webservers behind htaccess and then my 2 live ones.

Then theres the 8 IPB versions, 6 phpbb and 2 ubb that I also have htaccessed on my main testing webserver.

I've formatted my secondary webserver today which lost me another 6 vb's and 12 IPB's

OK I sound like a BB addict!

If you put it behind a .htaccess that's not public, so it's fine.
