Newsfeed with Selector menu on vbAdvanced CMPS · **Released**: 10-26-2004

Hello Everyone

This little mod, is great if you want to incorporate news feeds into the vbAdvanced CMPS

There is the one Prerequisite: I use the freeware version of carp,
but, if you have another aggregator you can modify this mod to use your own

And in case anyone wanted a different image for the news.gif, one of my members made these two for me, so I thought I would post 'em here to share with anyone who might want a choice (NO offense meant on the original, AT ALL! Just figured if someone wanted a choice, they could have one

The background has been changed to match my colors, but should be very easy to change to match any forum - if anyone wants/needs a transparent version, just yell!

I cant imagine why it would not work with vbindex, but I have not played with it, so I dont know how the templates work.

As far as other portals, pretty much the same, you'll have to play with it.

Please let me know though if you get it working, as I am curious.

In template.txt it refers to pages.php

Can't find this anywhere. I'm using 3.0.7

Iam having a few problems, iam getting a 404 error message when i select feed1.php on menu selector, i have put feed1.php in the carp folder and its chmod 711(folder is).

I get the welcome screen ok, but when selected not, but when i type url direct to feed1.php the screen with information comes up

the feed1.php file should not go into the carp folder.

The feed1.php file should go into the forumroot/feed directory like this

Is it possible to change the color of the scrolling news font? I have a dark theme and black lettering is not visible. I would appreciate the help.

It is not a VB3 engine, just a parsed copy!
