Basically, this simplifies the registration page into entering just your password, user-name, and e-mail address. What it does is create a pop-up window with the quick-registration and pops up if the visitor viewing your forums is not recognized to have an account.
If you don't want it in a pop-up window, simply, when you open the *.txt file attached to this post, copy the HTML code I give you for the pop-up window, rip out the code starting with <form> and ending with </form>, then place it somewhere in the unreg template.
You can see an example of the popup here: http://caz.psyker.net/
I don't mind if you test the register out by creating a new account, but I do ask that you don't flood my board with useless and blank ones...I don't enforce e-mail protection on my board, so please don't abuse this.

This is excellent.
I was looking for something like it for a while.
Guys; I think he pointed out where you can use the Modification without it popping up.

This is cool. Well done. It's good to do things via templates if you can. A lot of the things that people release hacks for can be done using just creative template editing. Also, don't forget the phpinclude template - the place to put global php code with just a template edit!
It looks real nice bro, even though popups stink. Question I have for you. Has this increased membership to your forums? What do your users say about this?
can you have it so that it only pops up once for a user? as it is now, it seems to popup each time i go to the site. i think the popup would be bearable if it didnt popup after the first time.
Currently i have my guests signing up, and not confirming their accounts. they aren't seeing the message that says they need to respond to the email because it is displayed in the same 300x400 window... is their any way to make it happen in a new window?
I have installed this hack but it dose not seem to work.
I do not get a message saying thank you for registering like on your forum.
I have checked the code and cant see any difference in my site to yours. Do I need another file to say thanks for registering?
Also on your site after I get the message [Thanks for registering] the pop-up box then shows ERROR 404 file dose not exist !!! Should this not say (Thanks for registering Please close this window and reload the home page) !!!!!
I like the idea of the hack but I have had to remove it at present until it works correctly.
By the way you need to delete the account I created on you forum [ LeeB ].
:ermm:
Thanks for the hack and any help would be much apreciated.
