The Arcive of Official vBulletin Modifications Site.It is not a VB3 engine, just a parsed copy! |

If the developer is unreachable, then nobody has permission to take their modification and do anything with it and then release it. You may do so for your own site, but you may not share it. There absolutely must be explicit permission from the developer for somebody to take over a mod and then release it.

You may do whatever you want with a modification *idea* as long as the code is totally your own.

I'm sorry but I cannot resist... the laughter, and it's not a first time when users ask something controversial on vb.com or vb.org using plane and simple English but the real answer is evaded by admins, owners in series of posts and then after all thread closed.
Let's be realistic, they know very well what is a question about but they have to answer this way for some reason. Well, whatever, I think that on the long distance vB owners shoot in their own foot by trying to kill vb3 in order to promote newer versions. But it's their choice. We only can try to save as much we can on our own. So, who is the owner of vbulletin.org board/domain? |

Huh? How have I evaded the answer? If a developer wants his modification removed, it gets removed and noone is allowed to download it any longer. How is that unclear or an evasion in any way? And how does that answer 'kill' vB3?
(Blackthorn asked to have all his vB3 mods removed about a year ago. He no longer wanted to support them and so he didn't want them around.) |

And of course I do not accuse anyone of anything. I just found it weird that these authors had all their vb3 mods removed, usually coders leave all of it there unless they want everything to be removed or specific one modifications to be removed. That's why I asked about it. And now you finally actually answered it, that Blackthorn asked for it himself and I assume from the answer Boofo asked for it too. |

We never remove a modification without the developers request unless there is a security flaw and the developer won't/can't fix it or it is a copy of someone else's mod that they didn't have permission to share. I can't think of any other reason why we would remove a modification.
Your Join Date says you have been here since 2009. If so, I would have thought you would have seen Boofo has shared modifications and then removed them several times before. I really liked the guy, but it was a habit of his. |

"...even if he ask very nicely"
Nicely asked question was your first post. Since the time that you got a clear reply on how this site works, and you're continue posting again and again about this question, sorry but in this case the question stops to be "very nicely asked" and becomes frustating question. As for final line. It's true that the coder(s)/designer(s) is the one who ask for placing their mods to graveyard. But even if it was that the admins move them, again there is always the same fact "Nobody can download anything from graveyard". Chris |

Yeah, I read it wrong perhaps, everyone makes mistakes, no? I know that many coders ask to have their modifications removed and yes, I agree that if it's the will of an author no one should have an access to his/her code. But that was not the question. I'm sorry I misinterpreted things but I think my question had a valid base to be asked. |
