What happens to vb3 mods of the coders who no longer post here?

What happens to vb3 modifications of the coders who no longer post here?
Examples: BlackThorn, Boofo
Are they all moved to graveyard? And if so then why it does not apply to vb4 mods?

Oh and another question, could I have an access to graveyard? Please.
There are plenty of mods and code buried there (if the attachments are not deleted and still accessible) and I would really desire to get to some of them. I don't care if they are not supported and if the code is still up to date or not. I would install and test them on my own responsibility.
I mean if there is a chance I could. Could I?

I have no idea about BlackThorn & boofo has passed away. Few coders have left Vb & many are planing to leave sooner. You won't have access to the graveyard as they were moved for some specific reasons.

I know. And it's really a shame what's happening to this software and community but I can't blame coders. :(

huh... yes, that's what I was thinking but still perhaps a kind request could be accepted by the one in charge. The code is like poetry... and I bet some decent poems are buried there. I really crave to see some of them...

The modifications will just stay up unless the developer asks to have them removed, in which case they are moved to the graveyard.

Nobody gets access to the graveyard. That is were removed modifications go. Most are moved there because the developer no longer wishes to share them any longer.

So, in other words no chance I can download them as you does no exceptions for anyone, even if he ask very nicely or is willing to pay?

How do you know if the coder who passed away (Boofo) or is not reachable (BlackThorn - I tried to contact him many times with no success as he developed some vbAdvanced Activity Stream mod I wanted to try) doesn't wish to have his/her vb3 mods up here?

Modifications are the property of the developer. If they ask us to remove them, then we remove them. We can't then allow people to go download them when they have asked to not share them anymore. Nobody would share stuff here if we didn't remove the modification when they asked us to remove it.

Okay, thanks Lynne, I think I got it.

There should at least be a protocol to transfer over the modification topic to someone else producing a modern version of the inactive/abandoned plugin, even if the modification itself can't be (for obvious reasons, IP and whatnot).

If the developer wants to transfer it to someone else, then they can do so. But we can't allow someone else to just take it over without getting permission from the developer first.

I mean in instances where the developer is unreachable.
