Woo-hoo!!!! It's working.....
It took about 3 hours, but I think I can do it in less than an hour now....Famous last words huh? I have some last questions. 1. Why do they have a "Do_not_Upload" file in the download? If you don't need it why is it there? 2. What is the Vbulletin_smilies.pdf file for? Where do you upload that too? 3. From what I understand you guys are saying if let's say I'm upgrading from 4.1.4 pl1 to 4.1.4 pl 3, then you only need to copy is 3 or so files. However, if you are going from 4.1.4pl2 to 4.1.5 pl3 then because it goes from a 4 to a 5, then you have to copy like 30 files over. Is that correct? 4. Lastly, what is the purpose of this statement? It says "Then Open the "Upload/Include folder". Why do you open it. It never has you place anything in it. It appears it just says open for no reason. Is there a paragraph missing or something? Thanks again for the help! |

G'Day i can answer Q #1 for you. They have that folder for tech support. If there is a problem with it They will use stuff from that folder to get it back up.
The second folder is do_not_upload - This folder contains tools to perform various tasks on your board searchshell.php - This file will allow you to rebuild the search index. vb_backup.sh - This file will allow you to run a database backup via SSH/Telnet or a scheduled backup through cron. tools.php - This file must be uploaded to the admincp folder and allows you to perform certain tasks should your board go down or you accidentally lock yourself out of the Admin Control Panel. This file must be deleted immediately after use or it will cause a SEVERE security problem. I hope that info is correct. |

1. answered above
2. It's a pdf showing the new smilies available. See this - https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entr...Your-Community 3. correct, but there are way more than just 30 files. 4. looks like a goof. You may need to open that directory and make sure you have your config.php file in there (the one you created). |
