August BOTM Nominations

This is the nomination thread for Board of the Month of August 2010.

Let me reiterate the rules for this thread:

• Only post nominations or seconds, no chatter.
• All seconds are to be placed in 1 post, with a max of 3.
• All seconds should include the word "second" or "+1".
• All posts must be in English.

Please abide by these rules or your post will be removed.


Nominations will be accepted until the 31th July 2010 (close to midnight... close means +/- HOURS. YES, I WILL CLOSE AND GET TO IT AS "SOON" AS I CAN (Like when they have to type that code in the tv show "LOST" this is some serious stuff here!!!)

When nominating please post the site name, URL to the forum, a short description what makes your board stand out from default vBulletin, and a reason for nomination that will motivate others to second the nomination. If the staff feels that a nomination post is too promotional it will be edited accordingly.

Any sites without a name, URL, description and reason for nomination will NOT be entered into the poll. Please ensure that your nomination is in the format:

Right now if you pick up a Diesel World Magazine turn to page 107 to see our full page ad. As well we are the official forum for the NADM which is the worlds only sanctioning body for Diesel Powered Motorsports.

I would like to nominate my website. I am a mother of 4 (ages 1, 2, 7 & 12) and decided to create a website on English Bulldogs because we found so many people had questions on their care, and also found that bulldog owners love to show off.

When we created it at the end of January (this year), we had no idea it would take off as well as it did. We are still small (800+ members), but we have only been here for 5 months. It took me 3 days just to install vbulletin because I had NO IDEA what I was doing and did not know anything about websites, domains, html, servers- I knew nothing. 5 months later I think we have a pretty awesome site! I work on it several hours a day and there is still more stuff I need to do to perfect it.

We have been able to donate to English Bulldog Rescue Organizations and teach bulldog owners not to give up on their bulldog (so it does not end up in rescue). We, and our members, give advice daily to new and old bulldog owners.

My site has information pages, fun pages (like bulldogs dressed up and our Then & Now pages), and of course the forums section.

I had no idea when we created this forum it would keep me so busy! It took off better than I had anticipated.

We are a community which thrive on user created content, some of which is written by new users to the 'editing' scene, and professionals who have been at it for god only knows how long. Today, many users will create YouTube pages, based around computer games and have some nice looking editing in those videos, known as 'montages'. We teach how to do these montages.

Reason for Nomination: We are a fairly new forum created in late April. We closed the forum in late June and did an overhaul, re-opening on Monday 12th July 2010. Since then, we have gained over a hundred new members looking to share their wisdom in editing and get helped by others. We give users any help they require and help every single user when they need it, and try to live up o their demands as best as we can.
