This is the nomination thread for Board of the Month of August 2010.

Let me reiterate the rules for this thread:

• Only post nominations or seconds, no chatter.
• All seconds are to be placed in 1 post, with a max of 3.
• All seconds should include the word "second" or "+1".
• All posts must be in English.

Please abide by these rules or your post will be removed.


Nominations will be accepted until the 31th July 2010 (close to midnight... close means +/- HOURS. YES, I WILL CLOSE AND GET TO IT AS "SOON" AS I CAN (Like when they have to type that code in the tv show "LOST" this is some serious stuff here!!!)

When nominating please post the site name, URL to the forum, a short description what makes your board stand out from default vBulletin, and a reason for nomination that will motivate others to second the nomination. If the staff feels that a nomination post is too promotional it will be edited accordingly.

Any sites without a name, URL, description and reason for nomination will NOT be entered into the poll. Please ensure that your nomination is in the format:

When seconding sites, please ensure that you use the same post for the maximum of 3 allowed seconds. Any seconds not located in your first seconding post will not be counted. Please also ensure that you quote the nomination post you are seconding in your post (Use Multi-Quote Option if you are nomination multiple boards). If there is no name or URL provided then the post will be ignored when the nominations are counted.

Also, please make sure that you are seconding a forum that has already been nominated by its forum owner. Any seconds for a forum that has not been nominated yet will be counted as null and void.

Reason for Nomination:

* 4 completely customized skins that people can choose from. Head over to the sidebar to the Quick Style Chooser and pick your accent color!
* Completely custom armory based on my forum: http://www.maskedarmory.com (example profile: http://www.maskedarmory.com/wow-armory-profile-287.html)
* Use Wordpress blogging system on the site. The theme has been completely customized to make it look nothing like nothing Wordpress (can be found at http://www.maskedcrusader.com/blog). Also created custom sidebar box on vBulletin to pull the latest Blogs from Wordpress.
* Custom feedback system that allows Trust Who Verified members to leave a positive, neutral, or negative rating for a user. The feedback that a user leaves for another user can be edited any time in the future in the event that something in the rating needs to be updated.
* Completely custom Donator system with access to a shoutbox, color coded user titles (not usernames), a donator icon that displays on both the threadbit and postbit, and is an ad-free setup!
* Custom phone verification script that calls the user with a code and the user has to enter it into the website. This modification incorporates a Paypal hook so that the user can pay for the service.
* Custom association system with something called Trust Who. A user registers, and if he or she is a Trust Who member, they just enter their e-mail address. From there, we do a pull from Trust Who's API and find out if the user is truly verified. Verified users are shown by a black/white Trust Who logo image in the threadbit and postbit.
* The sidebar is completely custom. Does not use any modification here on this site. The latest threads box and top posters are both custom coded to allow for optimized querying.

A nomination will greatly help to aid in pushing us in the right direction towards competing with the other top dogs in the RMT (Real Money Trading) market!

Description: We are mainly an off-topic (general discussion) web forum.

Reason for Nomination: JUOT.net is a unique off-topic web forum formed by members who banded together after the closing of their home on the web, Jeeps Unlimited Off Topic by their evil Web Administrator at the time. We just turned 2 years old and have over 750,000 posts. We have a number of unique mods including a "Bad Deeds" console where users can exchange reputation for gameroom-cash and my latest creation an 'All Topic' forum that combines posts from many other forums into 1 view. Most forums are open to guests but for the best experience and to see our large off-topic forum login with this read only account, Username: VB Visitor, Password: visit. In addition to custom mods we have an extensive arcade, the gameroom, and a links directory with links to over 120 of the best quality freeware apps, among others. We also have a forum networked to two other off-topic forums where users can communicate with visitors from other sites. We aren't necessarily the friendliest group of people going but we tend to take care of our own. We've also recently reduced the number of ads, logged in users see only 1 at the bottom of the page.
