I've been using UBB for a while and have decided to switch to VB. I was quite experienced with UBB hacks and all and was wondering how I'd get started modifying VB? Is it the same concept?

And is there anything else I should know about it? I'm about to install it tomorrow as soon as my host installs PHP 4.0 on the server, SQL is already on it...

I don't think I've ever heard of fusetalk before, and as for OpenTopic, thats an entire different discussion.

vB is the fastest board, the easiest board, and the best coded board that I've used so far.
Sorry, but I can't understand that! Is VB really faster then UBB? I think not. VB is based on Mysql, ubb on html (threads).

so on

Hey Wandrer - Bust out those graphs!

vB is in fact much faster than UBB. In the testing forum, there is a topic with 13,000 replies - it serves up just as fast as a topic with 1 reply. Try that on UBB - you'd be waiting all day, just to have yuor server crash.

fusetalk is a nice forum, you can see it in action at the http://www.anandtech.com or http://news.agn.com/forum3d/

I was considering it as my first choice until I found it requires cold fusion which is even less prevalent than mysql/php is. Then I stumbled upon vB and couldn't be happier.

First of all, is this guy trying to say HTML and CGI is faster than PHP and MySQL?

Second of all, I think we've got a one poster on our hands...
