5 years and 7000 members later, yes I have practicaly given up with a few spurts of motivation here and there... between member drama and maintnance you start to loath logging into your own website after a while. lol
i've recently started training a new admin to take over, it's a non-profit site |

I tried that approach cause i would have rather seen the site go with someone i know.
But that had 0 hope as they had 0 ability/willingness to learn new things and how to run the site and would constantly ask me the same questions over and over |

I'm not sick of running my forum.
However, it kinda annoys me a little bit when it goes all quiet for sometime. ![]() |

50g's....not a bad offer
![]() The thing that I dis like or get tired of building the forum to have no one show up....I guess marketing is not my strong area.....when I get frustrated that I am not getting members (active that is) then the site becomes a pain in the neck....I usually shut them down and start a new one ![]() |

I think it's worse when your putting a lot of hard work into your site, along with many hours and late nights. Yet, you don't see people joining like you would like too after all your hard work. That does make you get a bit fed up at times and wonder if it's all worth it. When you could be doing other things with the time spend on your board.
I think everybody must feel like that at times. |

I started www.yesfans.com back in April of 01. I have had my ups and downs. For the most part it does not bother me. The times I get sick of it is when it craps out or members get under my skin. I have now put in place sev admins and mod staff. I have left the site policy make up and execution to the new admins. I am around to put my input on things but otherwise I handle the techy end of things, that is it. I have the staff set up to always review ISSUES as a group and not maKE decisions that effects the site with out getting a few other staffers to chime in. That way the membership does not see any one staffer as calling the shots. I have found this method to work well for the most part.
As for making $$$ I have the google stuff on my site and I sell thigns via www.cafepress.com/yesfans which in total brings me about 150.00 give or take a little on a monthly basis. My site is with asmallorange.com for hosting, on a dedicated server of which site donations cover that cost along with the income from the site. All that aside at times it is nice to just not log in for a few days!!!!!! |

im sick of my forum right now and sick of my members they dont seem to get how mcuh time and money i have spent on the forum in the last year(new to vb not forums/sites). the site is a fan site and for some strange reason they wont post outside the section to with the artists/label even tough i try my hardest in making topics most of my mods are even lazy and wont help me out. but then at other times i love the forum and get enough of it but i guess its life. without me the forum would be a mess tough and i dont trust any of my mods or members to become an admin sadly lol
