Rookie needs help with Left Hand Column...

Figured it out.

For those who might experience this problem in the future. Here is what I did:

At the end of the code (in the HEADER section), I removed the "<!-- End Left Column Code -->" and replaced it with "$spacer_open"

Then in the footer, I entered in the following:
"$spacer_close
<!-- End Left Column Code -->"
