I have changed my directory sturcture around ... my forums directory used to be the root on my site "/". I have since moved it into "/forum" directory however my site index is still at /.index.php. So basically all my pages that have been index'd by Search Engines are all wong and point to www.mysite.com/showthread.php?t=5454 when they should point to www.mysite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5454
I know I can redirect everything to /forum BUT my site (other then my forums) still reside at www.mysite.com. I guess basically I want to redirect everything that was "forum" related (forumdisplay.php etc) to /forums so the search engine links still work.. Can someone please help me??? |

just to clarify mate. does your forum work as usual? are your forum threads looking for links in the old directory, or is it just search engines your worried about?
if it's just search engines then i don't know any other way but to wait it out... When search engines index your site again they willl update the link. There's a Spider Visitor hack on here that can tell you what spiders have visited what park of your site... This would be handy to see what searchengines are reindexing what ![]() |

It's just for search engines and links to the site that it already have in there database. There are big penalties with Search Engines for changin directory structure like this without giving a 301.
