Probationary usergroup
I'd like to have our forum so that when a new user signs up, they are a probationary user and must have their posts ok'd by moderators for a certain amount of posts, say 10 or so and then moved over to a regular user. I've looked for something like this in the stock code and can't really find anything but I'm also fairly new to Vbulletin.
Any thoughts? |

I just set this up the other day on my forum.
1) Set up a new user-group. I called mine "Registered Members (10 Posts)" 2) Set a new promotion based on post count. I set mine to 10 posts 3) Go through the usergroup permissions and forum permissions and set it up the way you want. So when a new user registers, they are automatically put into the "Registered Users" group by default. Once they reach 10 posts, they are automatically moved up to the "Registered Members (10 Posts)" which has additional permissions etc. I have mine set up so new members under 10 posts cannot start threads in certain forums, EX: For Sale section, cannot view member profiles, along with some other things. Helps to prevent trolling and spam. |
