Question::Generating Startup Traffic
As a brand new board is there any proven ways to get a board started?
Initially it is like a party with everyone sitting in the corner afraid to be the first ones to stand up & get it going. Is there a way to get around this? I seem to have the members on the other areas of my site but they just pass on by the forums. Which is understandable, since nobody wants to post in an empty forum. I was wondering if there were any services out there to purchase posters or anything like that. I myself am to busy with th rest of the site to actually go through & start creating posts on my own. any ideas? There has to be a good way to jumpstart things. |

If you search a bit at sitepoint.com you'll get tons of paid to post service i'm sure.

i know you said you wre too busy to post on your own, but honestly i've found that's one of the best ways to get people posting. when i opened my new board i made ten or twelve threads in each forum to get things going; i made a point to make two or three new threads each day, and i also had a few of my friends make a point to make two or three threads each day. that seems to have jump started things well-now other people are posting and making new threads on their own.
i've never heard of pay-to-post services.. how exactly do they work? sounds kind of cheesy if you ask me...if you have to pay people to post in your forum, why even have a forum? |
