Default Form to Extra Page to Archive?

Ok I'm referencing how to make an extra page. But here's my longterm goal and #1 I need to know if in fact it's possible, #2 How I can go about setting it up, and finally if I can make it only accessible for those whom I allow.

What I want to do is this. I have a website where I have a staff of writers. They will be writing articles on various topics and submitting them. I'd like to have it to where all they have to do is go to the url, login, fill out the form for their new article (including the title, date, and body), and then hit submit and have it create a new page such as... /article43452.html

Do I have to create a template first? How do I get all that into the form? I'm lost, I can't code myself out of a paperbag. Any help, links, advice, tutorials, programming, whatever you can lend would be much appreciated. Thank you!

bump - I think I made the template....

www.sportstalknet.net/forums/garys_test.php

I need to figure out now how to make an extra page (only visible by those I designate), have it be a form that they fill out.... and then automatically have that be put into my test page as a new article that also stores in the archive.

Hello,

Why not just create a specific forum for these users and make it invisible and have it use the forum permissions?

I'm trying to stay away from the Forum interface, to make the articles stand-out a bit and look a bit more professional. If you'll look at www.sportstalknet.net/garys_test.php you'll see that I have it more of a website setting... with ad space, logos, a side bar, and menu buttons to the upper-right corner.

My writers aren't what I'd call computer whizzes... so I'd like to have the templace/CSS to create everything the way it should like. I don't know if I could rely on them to try and do that with the forum setting.

bump...

even if there's one already made that I can tweak, that's fine. I just need a to find some php that puts the fields from the form into my template and creates a new page with it, after the writer hits the submit button ....

Hello,

Why not visit Sam at http://www.thevbgeek.com and purchase GARS? That will allow your users the ability to write their articles and you will have the ability to make them appear as you like. This program utilizes the forum you specify, but it also allows you to add whatever content you wish.

I use it for all sorts of things. here is an example:

http://www.herpcenter.com/forumdisplay.php?f=211

Thats how the articles are displayed. It creates the list and thiose entries are all in a normal forum. (it is just set differently.)

As you can see when you open the articles, it also allows for further manipulation.

I hope that helps and is along the lines of what you are looking for. The program only costs like $24.00.
