How about a hack that will automatically send a new member a PM just like the email hack, but PM instead?

I've tried that having my mods do it and we realized that 75% of the new members don't figure out the PM system (even with popups and email notification) for a few weeks!

I guess it would depend on your audience, but unless you are a computer techie type board, I think many of your PMs will go unnoticed.

I thought it was a great idea too (which is why I had my mods do it) but I guess the new members didn't respond to it.

right now i do it manually for every new member, and only couple reply

i think we need to deal with this somehow.. but i dunno how.

I think the new members have to be trained that it is there and how it works before this type of system will work.
