Looking for a dedicated
I have my hosting at asmallorange.com and i love their support and everything but my site cannot handle a shared hosting anymore. I believe it is time for me to move on a dedicated server.
I have a budget between 80-125$ for each month. My main 2 concerns are support and liability. I have couple major hacks installed on my board which maybe effective also. vbadvanced cmps , vbseo , photopost vbgallery , geek article system , geek auto link and etc. I start searcing around but i know every hosting company calls them perfect company The best way to find a good hosting is asking friends. I found a company called Sevstra which has affordable plans. Does any one have ever worked with them or have any idea of their support and liability ? Can you recommend me any other company ? Thanks in advance |

You might look into a VPS as the next stepping stone. All the bennefits and control of a server at a more affordable price. I have had one for 3 years and love it. I don't get tons of trafic but I have about 50 crons that parse websites (with approval) for live game data and I could never do that on shared.

Do you want managed or unmanaged? www.ev1servers.net/ & www.layeredtech.com/ are good unmanaged choices.

I just had the same problem. I got kicked out of asmallorange. My site had tomany people online at one time. I was using a shared server. they wanted way to much for a dedicated server. I found the most affordable place to be 1and1.com . been on them for 12 days right now. so far so good. speed is very good and so far they have everything I need. rob

Well managed servers are usually much more expensive, and there's not much stuff to do when you got the server setup and running. Mostly every host have cPanel but I think it's an extra $40. With like $100-$150 you could get a pretty decent unmanaged server, but you must know how to use WHM or SSH.

I have a dedicated service with www.simpli.biz and support has been excellent, prices are good and they have an excellent reputation over at webhostingtalk.

They seem to be a bit on the high-end for pricing...
I recommend trawling webhostingtalk.com and seeing about who has a good reputation, then searching for their name to see if any bad reviews come up, and how they were resolved... Chris |

I use http://www.ev1servers.net
I recommend getting Cpanel as Plesk is highly painful to work with when upgrading software like PHP and MySQL As far as setup when you order the server if you know how to use cpanel you can set it up yourself without a problem after you get it setup and running you can then look into upgrading the software to better versions of PHP and MySQL and optimizing each so that you make the most out of your server. Also look into APC for caching as well. |

support at siteground.com has been exceptional. I've been with them a long time now with no regrets.
