I get a little bugged when I receive an email message stating "member x" has updated their hack.

I desire to send out the grammar police to investigate this repetitive issue.

I feel "member x"'s hack has been updated would sound more appropriate.

The last few days have been bad on this end. My dad's girlfriend is moving into a double wide behind our house (long..long story...). She's in the process of getting everything set-up, and between the state digging up our yard, my dad building her required deck and my grandparents putting up the money things are moving a long quickly (to fast if you ask me ).

So like I said the state dug up our yard to run her power and phone lines. They made a mess of the drive way and all the dirt they churned up was wonderful the next morning when we got 2 inches of rain. They also cut my phone line and didn't bother to report it!

So I call the phone company on my cell phone, my pre-paid cell phone with a limited number of minutes that are worth more than gold. I'm on hold for 15 minutes or so paying $1 a minute to listen to oldies my parents jammed to back in the 70's. At some point I got someone in support, and after spending 5 minutes giving out personal information I explained that my phone line had been cut. Of course before transferring me to repairs and putting me on hold for 15 more minutes this women had to inform me that "Sprint currently offers DSL and DISH Network in your area!". I declined both, mainly because I know I'm too far away for DSL and I already have directv, but this still didn't stop her from keeping me on the line for two more minutes while she explained about how much money I'd be saving (a bold face lie).

So I'm on hold again..

After holding I get someone in repairs, give my info again, and finally have a work order put in for my line. Guy was supposed to show up Thursday at noon but didn't get here until today at 11am. I was without my beloved Internet for four days and I was on the verge of going insane. I am working on a couple of projects and needed to look up some information before I could finish them, my lack of Internet put a lot of stuff on hold for a few days.

I did get out of the house some, but ended up spending a lot of money in the process. ;/

O yea, it cost me about $40 in cell phone minutes to have my landline turned back on.

Whats the deal with the girlfriend? Sounds like too close to home for a girlfriend, well unless she can cook a mean dinner.

A little secret to save you time, hit ### through the menus of an 800 number and you will get through in no time. I used to work on the vpr systems. Its a backdoor thang.

Being beyond 15k feet of a central office sucks, but honestly dsl sucks anyway. I do feel bad for you being on dial up.....Your internet world is limited and growing....Maybe there will be an alternative soon.
