Default Styles and templates ..

I have looked at the templates after adding different styles. Do I really have to modify each template under each style if I make a code change?
Please tell me it ain't so or there is a trick around it.
Thanks..

I just have one main style then make the rest of the styles "child" styles under the main one. Then when you make a change to the main style, the rest of them inherit the changes also. I dunno if this is the way you're SUPPOSED to do it or not, but this is how I've been doing it for a while now and have had no problems so far.

Brandi sounds good now I will have to see how to do that. LOL.
Thanks...

PS.. Quite a difference from TN to the windy city. Lived in both and loved both.

there is no trick, if you add/modify a template, you have to edit all the styles to apply that change, << IF >> these templates are edited in the style... you know it if the template is colored in red in that specific style... if you edited the MASTER template (when in debug mode) you may not have to edit all templates... if they are in black, they follow the master template modifs...

btw, read the forum description next time, there is a forum for templates/style questions! this one is for releases!

Both are correct, in a way.

When making template changes, as nexialys stated, you need to modify the templates for all styles.

In what Brandi was talking about this applies to modifications made to vbulletin that are not template related. For example a plugin, product, etc., these will affect all child styles. When the template is within a plugin (usually created by a plugin), then it adds it to all child styles.

When I go to templates and search and want to make a modification it shows all the templates not just one say for adding something to the header. SO if I change something and want it changed on all templates I have to change all of them? If I remove them the way I installed and tried putting them as child styles as Brandi said this would show one master template that if I changed it would reflect in all templates and the others as lower templates that can have individual changes only for themselves.
Thanks
