Those are hosted on a site that does that, and are just put in using the code the site provides. Basically it uses the URL code for the big image with a nested IMG code for the thumbnail. Forgot which one, either Photobucket or one of the others. It has nothing to do with the actual forum, I think.

ok yea i was kinda thinking that. the images are hosted by http://imageshack.us/
is there any kinda hack or plugin that will allow you to do this? I know that if someone adds an attachment such as a pic it will display a thumb and then once clicked on it will show the larger image. but what i want something that will do the same thing but when people use the any ideas? thanks |

Yeah - I have a problem with the IMG BB code showing a link and not the actual pic... since 3.5.x... I beleive this is an ongoing issue at vBulletin.com... I have yet to see a cause for it posted... maybe someone here knows how to get the IMG code to actually show the pics...

If you don't mind the thumbnail actually being the whole pic then resized, then you can use this bbcode:
Code:
<a href="{param}" target="_blank"><img src="{param}" width=150 height=150 border="0" alt="thumbnail picture, click for full size"></a> There is a way of specifying just the width or height and keeping the aspect ratio, I can't remember it off-hand. You could replace one of the the 150's with {option} if you want more user control to maintain proportions for instance, however if the user enters a very high number, it can easily screw up your forums so is a kinda security risk. Enable the multiple options in bbcodes hack that's about if you want options for both height and width. |
