ok a lil confused on 2 issues:
1st one : my host gives me this (mysql8.ixwebhosting.com)
in config I seethis(// Valid options are mysql and mysqli. Try to use mysqli if you are using PHP 5 and MySQL 4.1+
$config['Database']['dbtype'] = 'mysql' do i leave the (8) out ?

2nd one I see this :// This must be created by your webhost.
$config['Database']['dbname'] = 'forum';
do i put ME@mysite.com in (dbname) ?

where do i see password,,I do not see that I created a database on my host w/password,,,,,,i read what marcoH gave me,,but im confused,,but one day hopefully i'll be helping others,,,this is some fun stuff glad im old so i have a lil patience left,,,lol
