I want to make a hack that allows you to add Custom Thread Fields to a specific forum, like a dropdown or just a textbox. And it will just display this info in the title bar, or a second bar under the title bar, or even inside the post.

Why not use Thread Category hack?
If that's no good, contact me via PM, I have a custom solution ready.
