Last Read Problem - need solution

Anyone know a solution for this?

But if I get interrupted, or just don't have time to read all of the unread posts and log off, the next time I log on only the posts from the last logon are marked new, and I have lost the unread posts from a previous visit. Is there a setting I need to make new posts remain new until I read them?
