Is there a Mod here for VB that you can check your members PM?
If so what is it called so I can search for it and if not may I request it?

There are numerous hacks that provide this functionality. Here is a general list of them. Make sure you look at the 3.5 hacks, because the link belows contains hacks for 3.0.x.

You could also do this via the database although it's not very fair for the members to read their pms...

I would not read their pms for no reason, I am very strong in keeping it privet, but as I know other have had issues with spamming and back stabbers, I only have it there to scare some off
