Bones - I have coppermine working in conjunction with VBB on my site.

I have the photos integrated into the forums and visa versa - the members profiles from the gallery bring you to the forums profile - and each forums profile have the most recent photos they uploaded to the gallery showing thumbnails.

Take a peek at http://www.djtaz.com (login/pass: test ing / test <-- *with the space in test ing) if you want - the 2 photos on the main page are taken randomly from the gallery - and if you click FORUM - theres a gallery section with random photos - its a very simple file that i got from these boards somewhere and slightly modified.

I can send that to you and explain how to do it if you want - it works with coppermine and theres no double uploading needed - and the whole thing is quite easily (*cough*) integrated into the boards.
