Change to HOTM
New thread as advised.

Anyway, it seems to me that myself (and I'm sure others) have basically been penalised for releasing 3.5 hacks early - the full release of 3.5 has seen a sharpe increase in installs, but because they were released a while ago, they are barred from the hotm vote. In the future I would like to propose the vote includes any hack that is not a previous winner, based on it's installs in the previous 30 days. No doubt any change will be too late for me (again ), but at least someone may benefit from a fairer system. |

I think, honestly, we should go back partly to how it used to be, with nominations
That way we can use a script to check for a list of hacks, say 20 hacks, and people nominate 5 of them, and 5 with the most nominations first get in Chris |

Yea, now that 3.5 is gold, I have 100's of installs, and wasn't even in the poll for this month. I was for last month only cause I purposly waited for the date to release it.

i think we need two HotM... Best New Release, and Most Popular this Month...
that's the problem with the actual HotM, that's unclear for everything... and my vision of a month is a "1st start it" and a "30th ends it"... not 15th ot this and 15 of the other... btw, i would suggest to move the HotM forum to the Site Feedbacks forum, because it's a place to feedback our appreciation of the hacks released, it's not related to the announcements of the board itself... my other 2¢ |
