Ive never found a solution for this depsite trying all sorts, including attempting to use data from external.php.
I want to use 1 forum for news. How could I go about extracting data from the the database? Ideally I need to get Post date, poster, title, message, number of comments, and if possible BBCode to be parsed. The hard part I guess is parsing the BBCode. vB v3.5.0. *Edit* I just found the vBExternal plugin and it works a treat! |

Can you explain what it is you're doing? Are you feeding a forum with an RSS feed? Or are you consuming an RSS feed FROM a forum?
I'm curious, as I'm writing a lot of plugins to force forums to behave certain ways, and I'm also consuming my own RSS feeds for a custom home page. I'd like to swap techniques, but want to make sure I know what it is you're doing. www.tgreer.com/printforum/ The home page consumes feeds from various forums. The "Analysis and Opinion" forum is only visible to Staff Writers, but their posts get "attached" to Categories. |
