Background on the quick reply box no longer possible?

showthread_quickreply had the code to show the quick reply screen and in there I had customised code on 3.0.9 that showed a feint version of the site logo, I have tried to add this in 3.5.0 but its not working.

Does anyone know how I should go about adding a background image to the simple no click quick reply box?

Any help would be appreciated as it looks like the format of the QR setup has been redone.

If it is possible, some code examples and where to's would be great!
