Try the e107 one. Pretty easy to do... If I can do it... you sure can.
Here is the theme page if you do try it out. e107 Theme But yeah. My main site is runing on e107 and it was easy to install and works good for me I think. I haven't done much custom modifications to it yet though. |

E107 is quite excellent, but you can try out all the available CMS?s as an admin at http://opensourcecms.com/

You're finding my exact problem. I couldn't find anything that even cost to do what I wanted. Subdreamer was as close as it came. (Not trying to push it on you still.). I hadn't heard of Joomla until recently. Looks a lot like Mambo (MAde by same devs right?). Umm..evoarticles is decent from what I remember but costs 265$ or something. http://www.evo-dev.com/products/evoarticles/ Thier tempalte system is identical to vBulletin (To the eye anyways.). The admin panel has a ton of vBulletini nfluence. I didn't go with it because of the pricce though. |

I would go for a custom CMS because I can have what features I want and what not. Pre-made CMS's aren't that much good. They sell it for a high price but they lack in the features and options.

I too think Joomla may be the leading CMS in this realm, for those of us who are firm on vBulletin for forums and don't want multiple userbases of course.
Maybe part of the problem is too many people are easy on their forums requirements and haven't seen the wisdom of vBulletin yet? I'm reasonably certain that Joomla will get there within a few months. With the impending multi-db release of vBridge, it's already almost there now, just need to pick up the pace on overall features development. The latter problem is actually what led me to this thread, as I really worry that I won't be able to do much with Joomla at this time. And conversely, Drupal has huge potential in my opinion, but the technical obstacles to integration are NOTHING compared with their closed-minded attitudes towards vBulletin. Tragic, really. What about vbPortal? I haven't really looked into that much yet. |

I'd also prefer not to have to chmod every file and folder just to run the damned thing. |

- full visual and userbase integration with vBulletin of course (or at least, something like vBridge) - community events calendar in CMS tied to vBulletin threads - automatically spawn vBulletin threads from CMS blog/article posts - decent commerce system - decent a/v streaming - and something very similar to the Mambo Community Builder module. |
