Hope you get well soon Brad.
I've seen some really nice doctors who are really bad clinicians. But they get away with it because they have a great relationship with their patients.

Yeah, House MD is a great show. He says and does things that doctors can't say in real life. Plus for doctors it's fun as you get to try to figure out what the disease is. I've guessed right twice so far.

Actually, in a perfect world, we wouldn't have to worry about what we eat. In a perfect world we'd be able to have 5 plates of what brad ate and not have any side effects.

I know what you mean Erwin, but that is part of the reason why I've started going to him. The doctor I used to see could care less about anything aside from getting paid.

I was seeing this women for a few years, then she moved away so I started going back to him. After months of useless attempts to get him to do something for me aside from handing me a sample of whatever sort of meds he had on hand I decided I was better off just not going.

But as you know things don't improve on their own, they get worse. Now it's to the point that if I don't do something about it while I still can I could be looking at not living as long as I should.

I personaly think this doctor is great, my grandparents go to him and I couldn't even tell you all the things he caught and corrected before it was to late. My uncle see him ofcourse, so does my friend and his mother. I can understand there begin bad doctors out there keeping there jobs by telling people what they want to hear, but there are bound to be good ones out there that just care enough about the people that come to them to take the extra time to listen and explain things to you.

Sounds like it could be a hiatus hernia. Nasty but controllable with diet.

Yes. They don't like giving out zopiclone if they can avoid it as it is highly addictive if taken for more than 14 nights. It also doesn't work for a lot of people. I'm guessing he probably gave you venlafaxine (it's the most common anti-depressant) in the hope that your sleep problems are due to some form of anxiety. All anti-depressants take 4-6 weeks to start having any effect so don't expect any overnight miracles. If in 6-8 weeks things haven't improved or you experience any side effects then go straight back and see him again.

EEK! I just realised I sound like a bleeding doctor!

I also really enjoy House MD. I'm surprised, because of Biology I actually understand most of the medical stuff they're on about in the show. Makes me like the show even more XD.

I especially like the episode when the mp3 player was stuck up that kids a** 0-o. And they talked about the RIAA being after him xD.
