The exact same happends to me. I installed it on 3.0.8 though and didnt upgrade from another vB version like you did.
I would also like to see what is wrong. Everything under the warn.php file just comes up with a blank page.
OK, there seems that these are two differenc problems here, unless I didn't understand dimitris so well. Dimitris said that "when he puts the buttons, he sees a white page". Does that mean, "when you press the buttons" or "when you make the changes to show the buttons"?
If, pressing the buttons gets you a white page, then something is not right with the templates. Make sure that the AWS templates are there. Go into your AdminCP and then in Styles and Templates, Template Manager and make sure there is a group there called "Advanced Warning System Templates", it will be near the bottom of the template groups list. Check that the templates are there and let me know.
Also, please let me know what is the URL of the page the program tries to show.
At the same time with your answer i solved the problem. Its "when i press buttons" and ofcourse was templates problem.
I dont know why but at my upgrade at vbulletin board (3.0.7 -> 3.0.8) your templates is gone exept 4 of them that i was changes a little. Mystery, because at other hacks (like arcade) i had not any template lost.
So, i run the instal warn only the first step and the templates coming again.
Thx John for your answer, please can you tell me something else?
If i want to have your last version, must i install all the versions from 3.4.8 to the last one? or it there a more quick way?
Glad you sorted out. I am not sure what vB have done in their latest upgrade, but it sure was the most painful upgrade I've done in my board as well. There is no reason why the templates should be affected, and it has not happened in any other upgrade from 3.0.3 to 3.0.7. Wierd things my friend.
As for upgrading to the latest version, common sense is to follow each upgrade instructions, from the version you are running to the latest, but I guess this is very hard. What I would do, is this:
- upload the latest files in your server.
- delete all the AWS templates and then run install_warn.php. That should create the new templates and add any database modification necessary. Typically, even though some table modifications are already there, the installation script should not stop ("should not", remember I am only human), but if it does, I am sure we can sort it out.
- run the warn_install_setting.php script to update the settings to the latest version.
- And then, the most hard part. You will have to compare the changes you have done in the vB files, with the installation instructions suggested changes.
If you have any problems, please let me know.
By the way, one of my twins is named Dimitris too. Where are you from?
