what i did was first upgrade to 3.0.8 and then to 3.5 rc2 it worked fine then.

Yeah as lairnoc stated above, that's probably your best solution L-Mane. Use ImpEx to "clean" your database to 3.0.8 and then upgrade to 3.5.0 from that. This way you won't have any hacks interfering with the upgrade process.

sounds like some serious problem... i would not know how to solve this one. I don't know if it work but make a clean install of 3.5 and use your old database maybe?
