I'm trying to figure out why our main forum page is taking forever to load. It has really hindered the activity where we used to have several hundred messages a day being posted by many many many members to now about 50 - 100 posts a day by a portion of those members who are die hards to our community.

Could it be the hacks that were installed? It is just the index page that takes forever. I have seen other sites that have as many or even more boards than we do and we have always had this many boards with the site in the past loading much faster. I have tried both showing and not showing the subthreads on the index page but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

This has been happening for awhile but I've been busy with our other sites so just now getting around to trying to solve the problem as we want to promote the community to gain new members in the next week or so.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Which Hacks do you have installed that affect Forumhome?

Well - I had others install the hacks since I'm not script savvy.. and I'm not sure really which would be causing it.. but the ones showing on the front page are:
Quote Hack
Weather Hack
and one of the stats hacks that shows all the current info

Also some of those hack you have on there although useful are placed in the wron place IMHO.

If you're gonna have a latest thread and latest post hack why put it on the bottom of the page??

This information, I THINK< is for quick reference and should be on top. By the time you scroll down the 1000000 forums to see the latest info, you'va already scanned the forums....

I would just remove them altogether...

Great idea for a forum BTW...my wife is going to sign up. ;-)

thanks :-) the reason some of the hacks are on the bottom is per the request of the members as they wanted to see the boards/forums first before the stats

so Zachary..... can I hire ya again? :-) to remove the weather one
