I think the first one MAY be an issue, but #2 most certainly wouldn't be.

And there's not more than one forum. What he's basically attempting to do is allow the child forums to act as the parent as far as a "view" is concerned.

Edit -- I was unaware of that little discussion from the link posted above. Pity there wasn't a general announcement regarding that issue.
