Simple Question on Custom Fields

I'm new to programming, so my apologies that my question is truly basic. Having just upgraded an old vBulletin 2 board to vBulletin 3, I'm finding that I no longer have the ability to edit a field that is still in my database and important to the users of my forum (in this case "storep" from Lesane's old store hack). What I'm basically trying to figure out is how to be able to add a new user profile field whose information is from the field "storep" and then be able to edit it in the Admin CP. Does that make sense?
